The mighty illamani dominate the horizon in the whole La paz district, and especially in the Palca valley, where this picture was taken. The farmers in whole Bolivia, especially in the Altiplano area, still utilize farming techniques that belong to long gone centuries ago. Working at harsh conditions with these simple techniques, they still manage to make a living, even if it is a simple one.
As I wanted to capture the local farmers, I need to creep quietly and unseen till I press the shutter. Due to the fact, I had to take the picture behind a row of thorny plants, and thus had to crop much of the picture containing the vegetation.
