Photographer's Note
Llama resting in front of the Condoriri (Condor's head) mountains at approximately 4500m. altitude. Taken during a streneous high altitude trek to the lakes below Condoriri Andes. The sun was quite shy, I tried to get a moment when both the llama and the mountains were sunlit. They are of course unpredictable and scared of humans.
I suppose that's me in the picture sitting lazy all these months away from TE, since then I have a new house and recently a new computer, I'm still trying to return to normal routine.
Happy new year and best wishes in 2008.

Merhaba Tan,
Beautiful mountains. Highlights are blown out a bit, which is inevitable and not distracting anyway. The llama in the foreground complements the high-altitude scenery and helps produce a distinct composition. Very nice. Regards,
Hakan

Hello, Tan--
i know the feeling of "all these months away from TE"... i've been trying to get myself back into a little bit of a routine as well.
i like what you've done here, balancing the foreground brushland in a couple of layers against the background peaks, and i like the way the slope of the mountains matches the curve of the hill at left, which serves as a counterpoint to the llama. Maybe a lower POV could have been interesting to pull the llamas head above the hill, making it a little bit more prominent of a feature... although i guess you typically don't hear of people emphasizing the power or forcefulness of a llama.
Alright... my ramblings cease here. Welcome back, and thanks for this one!

Bonjour Tan,

Tan,
When I saw the thumbnail of you photo I thought: Tan is back!, great... but that is not one of his spectacular photos, but then when I opened it... voila!... the llama adds the needed "wow" effect.
Great work, and looking forward to see more from you.
cheers

You're back !! That's good news...
A good premiere, with the lama, almost hidden in the brown tones and these huge and perfectly sharp moutains. Well composed, as usual.
Welcome back again.

Hi Tan,
It's great to see you back in action! And in a spectacular way! A place I'd never see if not for you, as the trek seems quite hard! Great scene in a magnificent scenery, whithout help from the sun, god of the Incas! Superb texture rendering.
Best wishes foe the new year too!

Yeah Captain has posted, welcome back !
This picture makes me laugh, it looks almost as clicheesque as the St Bernard in front of the Matterhorn, replace the less known Condoriri by the Illimani and you get it the perfect cliche !
Hope you got many nice pictures like this one despite the less than welcoming weather...
Have a nice week end,
JY

Great alpine shot! The mountains themselves are beautiful, but when you add in the llama poking his head out of the grass, it brings this to life. It's good to see that you are still participating, because I hadn't seen you around for a while, and I really missed your photos. Hope we see a lot more of you in 2008!

Tan, did you wake up of your "Dornroeschen" sleep? It's been a long while since I saw so mcuh activity in your galery and for the first time that I see a shot with overcast. The background for this almost stealth Lhama couldn't be more spetacular and I'm sure it was trusting the high altitude and the scenario in the background not to be disturbed by this huffing and puffing tourist coming up to 4,500m. Although I'm used to better light conditions in your shots I think that the scenario makes it worhtwhile to look into this shot.
Have a look into my intro and the plans for our Summer TE meeting at your doormat.
