Juscelino Kubitschek (JK) was a poor orphan boy who got to study for medicine at same time he got a public work as a telegraphist to survive. In the university he became friend of a son of a great politic leader and visiting his house he knew SARA. They got married and soon the family launched him as a candidate, he was mayor of the capital city of Minas Gerais, governor of Minas Gerais and president of Brazil, when built a new capital in the center of the country named Brasília, the motto of his government was "50 years in five", not for chance he is one of the most important presidents Brazil had.
He went to a short exile when politicians were persecuted during the hard part of military dictatorship, and he was preparing to launch his candidature in 1975, against the project of the military government, when he died in an car accident, and it was created a theory about he was killed by the government, what was not true.
He loved Dona Sara (Lady Sara) and she was his support in many aspects during his life, but, at same time, he was very seductive and had many love affairs, even with the wife of one of his ministers, who wanted to kill him with a gun. It is told he was going to a secrete date in São Paulo when he died in that car accident in 1976.
After his death Lady Sara did a movement to create this memorial, created by Niemeyer, paying homage to JK, but she had to deal with the ill will of the military government. This memorial is one of the most photogenic places in Brasília, you can take thousands of different images.

JK foi um menino órfão que conseguiu estudar para medicina, trabalhando como telegrafista para sobreviver. Na faculdade ele ficou amigo do filho de um importante líder político mineiro e na casa dele se encantou com Sara, a sua filha, e se casou com ela. Pouco tempo depois começou sua carreira política que passou pelos cargos de prefeito de BH, governador de MG e presidente do Brasil, quando ele ergueu a nova capital no centro do país e cujo lema de governo era "50 anos em 5", não por acaso é um dos presidentes mais importantes da nossa história.
JK foi perseguido durante a parte mais dura do regime militar e depois de um breve exílio, regressou. Ele estava preparando uma campanha política a presidente, contra a vontade do governo, quando morreu num acidente de carro, gerando a ideia errônea de que ele havia sido morto pelos militares.
Ele amava Dona Sara e ela foi o grande apoio para sua vida pública e particular, contudo ele era muito sedutor e vivia tendo casos amorosos. Certa vez se envolveu com a esposa de um de seus ministros que o queria matar com um tiro. No dia do tal acidente de carro em 1976, ele estava indo para um encontro secreto com uma mulher em São Paulo.
Depois de sua morte D. Sara fez um movimento para criar um memorial em homenagem a JK, com projeto de Niemeyer, mesmo contra a vontade dos militares. Esse prédio é muito fotogênico e podemos conseguir mil belas fotos dele.
