Photographer's Note

Every time this Brazilian tanager (Ramphocelus bresilius) came for breakfast, all the other guests in the hotel started looking for me so that I could take a photo of him, which I was able to do only in the second morning. The female has a different plumage, much less eye-catching, as can be seen in the workshop.

Another superb shot of the foraging birds with the fruit slices. I believe that the males of a lot of species are more brightly colored and thus more attractive to potential predators, leaving the female to survive and rear their chicks should the male become a tasty snack. Tfs!

A magnificent bird this Brazilian Tanager but it does not have a mix of green, yellow or blue colour :)
You were apparently known as the nature photographer in your hotel.

Hello Alexandre,

This is another excellent photograph, capturing the feeding bird. The w/s example is equally good, though as you note, the female doesn't possess such bright, colourful plumage.
You don't mention a tripod, so these photographs are amazingly sharp, using a shallow dof.

Que maravilloso punto de observacion tenias, para poder captar a todos estos pajaros de forma tan bella.
Este es espectacular practicamente rojo con las alas negras asi como su colo, una belleza de ave.
Muy agradable colorido, que junto con la buena nitidez y óptima iluminación, da gran calidad a la imagen.

These are really the highest quality captures. The birds are so sharp in your shots and with a lovely natural background.
Of course there is some cheating in the fact that you feed them with fruit pieces :)

Al leer la discusión con macjake sobre tu tanajista sayaca, lo encontré fácilmente en Internet con solo dar la descripción del ave. Pero debo admitir que no funcionó para el tanager brasileño, por lo que estas haciendo un muy buen trabajo al enumerar todas estas hermosas especies.
¡Es curioso cómo a menudo son los pájaros machos los que tienen el plumaje brillante! No siempre funciona así entre humanos :-)
