Photographer's Note
I took this one of the town of Embu das Artes, in the periphery of Sao Paulo (I have already commented on that place in my previous posts here and here.
While looking at the shops, that trio of waiting ladies attracted my attention. I have found this kind of figures in southeast / northeast Brazil and they usually are placed on windows of antiques / artisans shops.
In this case (at least for me), the difference was that the ladies were sitting at a table… waiting. Since the space was very cramped, I finally ended using a focal length longer than I would liked, also, in terms of PP, I added a little gaussian blur before resizing.
As I have mentioned in related posts, this little town’s atmosphere have made it one of my favorite weekend escapades. In the workshop photos (bonus) you will find two more views of the village.
Hope you enjoy them!
Raw Capture at ISO 100 – f6.3 – 1/125s @ 100 mm + CP filter
Post processing: Raw file conversion (DPP) to TIF, then (PS CS) cropping; levels; USM; Gaussian Blur, resize; very light USM, and save for the TE.

Hello Carlos,
Nice diagonal line leading the whole photo. The sharpness is really great as the strong colours too.
It's a nice and different one!

Hi Carlos,
Well thought out and presented, with an interesting POV. I like the way the principal subjects and the table are slightly angled in the scene. The hues and tones are alluring, and the framing and cropping are well executed. A very fine capture, Carlos. Have a good week.

Olá amigo Carlos,
Muito engraçada esta sua imagem.
Perfeitos detalhes destas bonecas.

Hello Carlos,
very nicely captured shot from a good pov. The light is good, the colours are nice and very well saturated and I like the diagonal perspective. I'm not sure 'bout the blurred effect, but it's a question of taste. Anyway a funny ,unusual and very interesting shot, my friend. TFS this and the bonus pics, too!
Take care.

Charming picture. The girls look very melancholic. That must be appealing for buyers.

Hi Carlos, how are u?
A superb photograph. The colors, and point of view are all great.
It seems though it lacks some sharpness a very slight blur.
Otherwise Nice Work.

Hola Carlos,
Buen trabajo, amigo.
Un saludo desde Barcelona,
Josep

Hi Carlos,
What funny trio, black and very white eyes, nice composition, all experiments have to can on TE. The sharpness is really great as the strong colours too, certainly the yellow attire. Thanks for sharing.
Best regards,
John

Oi, Carlos! Miguel.

Hi Carlos
Nice shot, perspective and colours. I agree, that the ladies look a touch sad, but you have framed the shot very well, and the POV is good. I'm not sure about the blurred effect but that is a matter of taste. Either way, it's and excellent composition. Well done.

Hi Carlos,
I think this photo captures well the atmosphere of a holiday market. These ladies seem to be waiting for something exciting to happen. The framing is excellent and the DOF makes them stand out from a busy background. You've captured excellent detail and color inspite of the dark subjects on a shaded street.
I was sure I'd commented on this one, I remember the interesting workshops clearly, Ah well, sometimes I don't wait for the posted notice but go on to another window. It was interestting coming back and reading the critiques. Some say it's sharp and some say blurred. The eyes of the two and the tops of the heads of the two in front are certainly sharp, then too, a wooden carving that is heavily painted doesn't have the fine detail of a human face. I think more than the specific details is the overall sense of being there, which you have conveyed well.
Regards, Pat
