Quindio despite being one of the smallest region in Colombia is one of the most beautiful, here is its most famous icon palma de cera.
This palm species can grow to a height of 45 m (148 ft)—or rarely, even as high as 60 m (200 ft).
It is the tallest recorded monocot in the world.[4] The trunk is cylindrical, smooth, light colored, covered with wax; leaf scars forming dark rings around the trunk.
The leaves are dark green and grayish, 185–540 cm long, with a petiole up to 80 cm long.
Fruits are globose and orange-red when ripe, 1.6–2 cm in diameter

Hello Federico,
This reminds me of the Valle de Cocora. It may be the same region.
Excellent point of view to show us the tall trees with the majestic landscape behind them.
The clouds hanging over the mountain slopes and the valley make the background very impressive.

Hello Federico,
The palms are graphically strong eye-catchers but the real beauty of the photo are the small clouds hanging over the valley. They create a kind of fairytale atmosphere and you captured this amazing view with a very well handled light.

This is a fine shot of these rare trees
It is remarkable how you have been able to emphasise their height by showing them above the clouds, with mountains in the b/g.
It's a very good and unusual photograph, sharp as well as well composed.

Great dof view of the verdant mountainous landscape and that's a lotta very tall palm trees nicely spread across the frame. Never seen before - tx to your invfor write-up. The blue sky and low clouds are real plus point that looks so welcoming, while contrast between near and far is exciting, drawing our attention to the main interest. Excellent shot, Congrats

I visited this area but I didn't have a chance to climb the hills as you got. nice view with the fog and the beautiful monumental palm trees in evidence.

Hi Federico,

We get a great view of the palms and the countryside beyond in this photo. We can see how tall the palms are. The cloudy landscape and the palms give the feeling of being right in the wet tropics.
