Photographer's Note

After getting multiple shots of the beautiful ruins of Macchu Picchu (Peru) and the nature/landscape surrounding it, I decided to add some life to the beauty before my eyes. The Llama is the national animal of Peru, and what better subject than this animal to play the foreground to the picture.

I can still remember how long it took me to take this picture. I stood there and waited for her to turn her head towards the camera, but she just continued looking in the opposite direction -- maybe she was camera shy... or maybe she was admiring the awe-inspiring Machu Picchu...

But alas she did turn, and I thank her for it. Not only was I able to capture her, I also got a good view of the ruins themselves.

The mountain in the backdrop is Huyana Picchu, and is about an hour's climb.
