Photographer's Note

The last post of the Salkantay trek for the next few weeks ('till I'll get home and be able to prepare some more pictures for posting).

I took that picture in the 2nd day of the trek. This place is the Pass. After 1 and a half days of climbing from 2700 m' above sea level to 4700 m' above sea level we have reached the highest point of the trek. From now on it was sopposed to be easier...

At that point, the porter from Mollepata that helps us with the bags left us (It is recommended to take a porter because if you don't, the climbing became 4 days instead of 1 and half days).

He is the guy that you can see in the right side of the picture and those are his horses near by him (and our backpacks on them...).

That place is a holy place for the locals and each one of them that reaches there build a little sculpture of rocks. You can see a lot of them on the horizon line.
