Photographer's Note
Have to admit that I cant remember where I took this, just that it was around Cusco. Found the light in Peru very harsh, so didnt take too many photos of people. This is my favourite one as the background is nice and simple.

There is a sort of stillness in the look and all the face of this woman as if she was turning into a statue. I think that when she is dead she won't look much different.
Nice close-up, I might have wanted to see the typical peruvian hat she must be wearing. Well done.

She is surely thinking about something pleasant.. Nice portrait.
I adjusted levels and cloned the disturbing white in her eyes.

Love the muted background, gives this image a texture & depth that softens and warms the womens face.

A beautiful face that seems to have lived a well-lived and harsh life. Her wrinkles almost look like river tributaries on a map. Maybe each wrinke has a story. I like that the face takes up most of the space so nothing distracts from admiring her. She looks kind, and tired.

What wrinkles! She seems to be recalling something from her past.
If you enable workshop postings, I will send a quick WS with adjusted levels and sharpened a bit to make those wrinkles more prominent.
Otherwise, great shot!

A face full of character. The colours are harmonious and the backdrop looks very Peruvian.

Breathtaking portrait. There is a close-up wideangle feel, yet the subject seems totally at ease, not as if there is a camera in her face. Subject and expression are perfect, and background is colorful and gives context, but is not at all distracting. I think your use of shallow DOF helps draw the viewer to the woman's already riveting eyes. One of the best environmental portraits I've seen on TrekEarth. Bravo.

Great photo! The composition on this is perfect. I think it may look nice with a bit mor DOF. I would have liked to see the braid in focus. It is still a great shot! congrats.
