Another blast from the past.
The Yak herders bring the Yaks up here in the summer and stay here. The roofs are temporary - they bring up bamboo or vinyl covers.
The river below is the Langtang, just above Kyanjin Gompa on the way down from Yala Peak.
It was taken on a wee compact & scanned in.

Beautiful abstract picture, Alastair! It must require a lot of skill to build stable walls with those irregularly-shaped stones, though I do see that they are quite long compared with their cross-section. Reminds me of an 'airidh' in the moors near Stornoway where the owner told us how her mother and grandfather (her father was lost with the Iolaire) used to bring a canvas for the roof with them every year when they all went there for the summer.
