Photographer's Note
I showed you a few days ago the convent San Antone San Antone di Casabianca visited with a friend
Chinchini .
It speaks only of the French Revolution but the Revolution little Corsica which took place 60 years earlier. This is a movement of decolonization, the first in modern times. He was against the Republic of Genoa, which had ruled the island for nearly 4 centuries. It broke out in Boziu region near Corté in 1729. The notion of national identity that triumph, the consciousness of belonging to a unit emerged from the policy of Genoa.
Many great men have led this revolution, some were paid with their lives as Gaffori. But those who gave to Corsica a Constitution and reform the organization in depth of the island was Pasquale Paoli.
The Convent of Caccia is a history of Corsica Paoliste. Before being elected General of the Nation in July 1755, Pasquale Paoli present and vote on 16 April 1755 to the consultation (National Assembly or Regional) a first set of regulations and decrees of criminal law.
The constitution will be adopted on 3 August 1755 to the Diet by Corté - former consultant Naziunale.
The convent was founded on the church Pieve di Caccia in the town of Castifau. The Convent of San Francesco was founded in 1510 by Franciscans.
Initially built from wood and already the largest of Corsica, it was destroyed in 1553 as a result of fighting between the Genoese and men Sampiero.
It was restored and housed about thirty monks. It also housed a private school. The present church started in 1730 was never completed. It is an important cultural center and reached its apogee in the 18th sc Corsica during the Revolution. Under the French Revolution, he suffered the fate of many convents plundered and ruined.
Since the 19th, it was transformed into a cemetery. Currently, it undergoes a renovation project to host various cultural activities of the church Pieve di Caccia (Asco - Castifao - Moltifao).
It rained on Corsica and it captures the atmosphere of the place: the sadness of seeing such a beautiful building in ruins.

Hi Marie!
This looks very dramatic with these low clouds.
Good composition with this old and nice ruin and these graves.

Bonsoir, Marie,

Marie,
I'm not sure a photographer can feel "sad" for ruins - they make such a great, atmospheric subject - as you've proved here! :)
And the dull weather only adds to the teriffic atmosphere - a great time to take this shot I think.
Regards
Colin
