Le luci del sole al tramonto illuminano le nevi dell'Atlas,la catena montuosa che circonda Marrakech su tre lati.

Monti dell’Atlante (francese Atlas), sistema montuoso dell’Africa nordoccidentale che si estende in direzione est-ovest per 2.237 km attraverso la Tunisia, l’Algeria e il Marocco. È delimitato a nord e a nord-est dal mare Mediterraneo, a ovest dall’oceano Atlantico e a sud dal Sahara.

Geologicamente si divide in due parti: l’Alto Atlante a sud-ovest, in Marocco, che ha avuto origine dal corrugamento della piattaforma sahariana (vedi Tettonica a zolle), e l’Atlante Telliano, in Algeria e Tunisia, che si è formato in seguito a un complesso di fenomeni tettonici avvenuti in epoche successive, contemporaneamente alla formazione dell’arco alpino. Nell’Alto Atlante si trova la cima più elevata, il monte Toubkal (4.165 m), mentre l’Atlante Telliano raggiunge i 1.520 m.

L’Atlante è costituito da numerose catene, oltre alle due citate in precedenza: il Medio Atlante, che si estende nel nord del Marocco e ha un’altezza massima di 3.350 m, l’Antiatlante, nell’estremità sudoccidentale del Marocco, che raggiunge i 2.060 m, e l’Atlante Sahariano, che culmina nel monte Chelia, alto 2.328 m.

L’Atlante è solcato da numerosi valichi, che collegano la costa al Sahara. Le pendici settentrionali dell’Alto Atlante e quelle meridionali del Medio Atlante sono attraversate da fertili vallate, ricoperte da pascoli e da colture arboree (cedri, querce da sughero, olivi, fichi). Numerosi sono i giacimenti minerari (oro, argento, piombo, petrolio), sfruttati però solo in minima parte.

Hello Luciano,
Again a fantastic shot of Marrakech. The combination of pink, blue and red of the houses is very nice. The light on the snowcapped mountains is absolutely splendid.
I also like the vertical lines of the tall palmtrees for the good composition.

Encore une fois tu me clous au sol.
C'est vrai que l'on voit l'Atlas et le Toubkal depuis Marrakech mais :

- ce n'est pas tous les jours
- c'est souvent dans la brume
- la neige fond aussi très vite

Que s'est-il passé à Marrakech en Mars 2009 ? il va falloir que je consulte un marabout.

I didn`t know Marrakech looked like this..amazing! It looks almost unreal. An excellent composed photo with many interesting details. I like the colors and the mountains very much, the palmtrees makes the image more exotic and interesting. A must visit for me! Very well done and Tfs !Great note too.

Se volevi, con un'immagine, rappresentare il Marocco come terra di contrasti, ci sei riuscito al cento per cento.
Lo sguardo quasi si rifiuta di associare i due piani della foto, tale è la differenza di ambientazione e di atmosfera.

Come hai fatto a beccare una luce cosi incredibile !
I colori dei palazzi tra l'altro sono pure particolari e stanno benissimo con lo sfondo.
Innagino avrai fatto un centinaio di foto in queste condizioni !

the view to the mountains and the position of the palm trees are top.
The roof in the foreground is not the best subject, but I understand that you have not many possibilities to look for a better POV, when the sun will be away in some minutes.. :)

mi colpisce molto il contrasto tra le cime innevate e le palme....però anche questo é marocco...un luogo in cui ci finii quasi per caso e che si rivelò di una magia unica

Bravissimo Luciano! Questa tua eccellente foto sembra una sorta di puzzle ideato da una mente geniale. La cupezza del cielo, l'incredibile splendore delle montagne dorate dal sole,e innevate; lo svettare delle palme; il rosa carico dell'edificio, il verde intenso delle grondaie. L'intero, bellissimo insieme, sembra inventato, per illustrare una fiaba. Invece é reale: una tua splendida immagine!

la visione dei monti è fantastica l'hai regolata bene la luce alta, la nuvolona minacciosa l'avrei inscurita ancora di più per accentuare il contrasto ... e il rosa, bhè all'inizio ho storto un po' il naso (ti ricordi quel vecchio film del sommergibile rosa...a cosa sono andato a pensare) ma poi mi sono ricreduto, è anche un'idea carina.

i colori sono magnifici, e la luce sulle montagne incantevole, la terrazza in primo piano aggiunge colore ma spoetizza un pò l'atmosfera, chissà se togliendola...

Hello Luciano,

A well composed shot showing horizontal layers of different colours, textures and shapes.
The details of the buildings show ones that are very different in color and design from those in England.
The white mountains, with their cap of dark clouds, make a wonderful backcloth.

Well chosen pov and excellent composition! I love so much the colors in this picture! Sharpness and exposure are very good too! Everything so well placed in the image... I love the colorful buildings, the palm trees(?), those incredible mountains in the background, with the sunlight reaching them and those dark clouds above! An outstanding photo job!

A breathtaking shot. What a rare and fabulous moment you've captured here... I've never seen Marrakech in that way, incredible.
The composition is really effective with these different layers, and the colours are so marvelous.
Bonus, the light on the peaks of Atlas...

Very interesting image as multi-colors of sunset created a magnificent show, Luciano.
The pic. actually divided into 4 sections: grey clouds, snowy ridge, red and pink houses on far side and a green roof-tiles on FG.
