Photographer's Note

Just for..relax,, a unique chance for rest and enjoyment for all the senses, these Summer days..A scene from the famous Koukounaries beach.The blue plastic jetty on the left, is used for the beginning
of the water sports.

Koukounaries

This is most famous beach of Skiathos and one of the most widely - known beaches in Europe. It is known as "Chrisi Ammos - Golden Sand" since the sand there is extremely fine and shines under the summer sun. This beach offers the visitors its deep-blue, crystal-clear waters and a unique chance for a rest since the forest of Koukounaries reaches down to the sea.
In this forest, there is the lagoon of Strofylia which together with the forest of Koukounaries are a rate aquatic natural reverse. this is protected under the supervision of the Municipality of Skiathos. There is a large variety of hotels, hostels, camping sites, tavernas, restaurants, bars, "ouzeri", and cafes in Koukounaries. You are also able to do the water sports of your choice, or even rent a boat or play tennis in onr of the nearby hotels. The beach of Koukounaries is situated on the southwestern tip of Skiathos.
Apart from all the above, the sunset is spectacular there and it is something worth experiencing.

Κουκουναριές

Η γνωστότερη παραλία της Σκιάθου και μία από τις γνωστότερες παραλίες της Ευρώπης. Είναι γνωστή και με το όνομα "Χρυσή Άμμος", αφού η άμμος της είναι πολύ λεπτή και λάμπει ολόχρυση κάτω από τον καλοκαιρινό ήλιο. Εκτός από τα καταγάλανα, πεντακάθαρα νερά της, η παραλία αυτή προσφέρει μοναδική ευκαιρία για ξεκούραση και απόλαυση, αφού το πασίγνωστο δάσος των Κουκουναριών σταματάει λίγα μέτρα από τη θάλασσα. Το δάσος - καθώς και η λιμνοθάλασσα Στροφυλιά που βρίσκεται μέσα σ' αυτό - αποτελεί ένα σπάνιο υδροβιότοπο, ο οποίος είναι σήμερα περιοχή προστατευόμενη από το Δήμο Σκιάθου στα πλαίσια Ευρωπαϊκών Προγραμμάτων. Στις Κουκουναριές βρίσκονται πλήθος ξενοδοχείων, ξενώνων, κάμπινγκ όπως και πολλές ταβέρνες, εστιατόρια, μπαρ, ουζερί, καφετέριες. Εκεί σας δίνεται η δυνατότητα να σχοληθείτε με όποιο θαλάσσιο σπορ θέλετε, ακόμα να νοικιάσετε σκάφος ή να παίξετε τένις σε κάποιο από τα κοντινά ξενοδοχεία που έχουν γήπεδο.
Η παραλία των Κουκουναριών βρίσκεται στο Νοτιοδυτικό άκρο της Σκιάθου και εκτός από όλα τα προηγούμενα προσφέρει ένα μαγευτικό ηλιοβασίλεμα το οποίο δεν πρέπει με τίποτα να χάσετε.

If you didn't put the note on whereabouts, I would think somewhere in Maldives or similar.

Hi danos,

the diagonal line of the pier is an asset to the composition. It is well divided, the beach, the sea and the sky. The point of view leads our eyes toward the mountains which is giving depth to the composition. The nice sky is sending a light which is enhancing the different tints of colors of the scenery. Dear Danos,

Your photos of the sea make me dream about the sea, so I will upload some beach pictures in the next days, when I have time. Also the one above is such a romantic and nice shot. The blue plastic jetty boost DOF tremendous and sets a highlight and then you have these clouds lined up like on a rope. Fantastic, I like it a lot. The sea looks very clear. Well done

Thanks for the invitation ;) From crystal clear to turquoise and then a more deep blue, the sea just looks fantastic! The jetty creating a diagonal leads the eye to the far hills and adds a good depth. maybe, it is slightly tilted to the right but the overall is excellent!

Cette photo me plaît beaucoup avec les couleurs de l'eau , du sable et du ciel. Il semble que tout est prêt pour accueillir les estivants. Le ponton en plastique est bien placé pour mener le regard jusqu'à l'horizon.

It looks deserted but beautiful with the crystal clear water and the stunning colours. The diagonal of the blue jetty adds a lot to the scene as it points the way to the distant mountains.

Koukounaries is one of more beautiful beach which I saw in Greece!
In May, it must be like the paradise.
Very beautiful day with a purity in the atmosphere which allows a very beautiful sight on the mountains of Evbia (I think). I also like very much this festoon of small clouds. The plastic jetty lengthens the perspective.

Καλησπέρα Δάνο,
Απλά όμορφα στάδια με το γαλάζιο να απλώνεται σε όλες τις διαστάσεις του. Η φύση έχει δώσει απλόχερα όλη την ομορφιά και την γαλήνη σε αυτό το μέρος, ειδυλλιακό για ξεκούραση.

very beautiful inclusion of this floating element in the compo, it breaks the natural lines of the landscape and add contrast and interest. the beach is fantastic and the diagonal created a curious visual effect. well done.

The long float taking the viewer out to the see with fine view upon.
Transparent water and multi-blue tones are amazing.
