Photographer's Note
The yak in picture was maybe contemplating to leave India by crossing the river bed shown ahead, into the mountains and landing up at Tibet. Who knows.
The Indo-Tibetan border is not too far way on the "path" straight up, and in between here and the border there are no villages (at least none marked on the map).
The picture was taken at Losar, the entry to Spiti valley if one wanders into it from Manali side, after the downhill drive from the might Kunzum La pass.
Adjusted the autolevels in photoshop, added frame and signature.

I love these wild areas, with brown land.
The presence of the anumal is perfect and complementaryto the landscape
