Photographer's Note

Roaring Branch, off of Kelly Stand Road in rural southwestern Vermont. The creek parallels the road for most of its length and is used by whitewater enthusiasts during the Spring melt. The road itself connects the towns of Arlington in the west, and Stratton in the east. It is almost entirely unpaved, and unmaintained in the winter. Benton MacKaye first conceived the idea of the Appalachian Trail near this site...
