Another prayer for Asia, a photo from Jammu and Kashmir, North

Photographer's Note

I ended my posts on TE with prayers for Asia, and I shall start my new posts with another special thought for Asia and most particularly for those who suffered in their flesh, their heart or their life.

This was taken early morning at sunrise in Leh on top of the little hill where a gompa stands over the Changspa area. It is indeed something very moving to see those ladakhi praying here with this breathtaking background! I dedicate those prayers to Asia.

and my best wishes for a better world in 2005...and to you all on TE.

Impressionnante opposition entre l'immensité des montagnes et cet homme seul priant à leurs pieds.

Another beautiful one, Eric. I like the smal person incomparison with those enormous mountains. It's a symbol of what happened, the powerless people against the enormous power of nature.
Very good one for this disaster.

I wondered whether is there a place in this planet, safe to live. In both the Quran and the Bible, it was mentioned a time when the world was flooded, and we human are the generation of those survivors, with Noah. We have forgotten that the water which flooded the planet, is still flowing or frozen somewhere. And dormant, waiting. Except there is no Noah and there is no Ark, bigger enough for all of us. I believe, it is time we pray for us all, mankind.

Belle photo et j'avoue qu'en voyant ces photos sur LEh, ca me démange vraiment de visiter cette partie du monde. J'ai d'ailleurs découvert les photo d'Olivier Follmi...Remarquable!
Bien sûr, je me joins à toi pour tous ces malheureux pour trouver du répis en 2005...

J'arrive à l'overdose, avec tous les médias qui en font bcp trop avec le tsunami... Le fait que ce soit la plus grosse catastrophe naturelle au monde est peu important, le plus important c'est que bcp de personnes sont mortes (ou risque de mourir), et que les autres souffrent ...

Merci pour ta photo qui m'apaise sur ce sujet ...
