Photographer's Note

Bangkok's not anymore very new but still new international airport Suvanabhumi is very busy almost around the clock like this photograph of the arrival hall at late afternoon. The low sun adds golden color to the bright arrival hall, giving an idea of the warm subtropical temperature outside. The latest addition is the airport railway link to downtown Bangkok in the Phaya Thai district. It took almost 5 years to build the 28.6 km long airport railway, which was officially opened in August 2010. There are two different services, the nonstop express takes 15 minutes to reach either Suvanabhumi or Makkasan city air terminal, running at a speed of 160 km/h, while the slower city commuter train stops at 8 stations and needs about 30 minutes for the full distance.

Thanks for pointing out my geographical error, Bangkok's new international airport is not located in the Thai capital, but in small township Racha Thewa in neighboring province of Samut Prakan.
