Photographer's Note

In Forollhogna National Park and its close surroundings you can find a number of leisure time cottages. However, when the NP was established in late 2001 there also came a general building prohibition, only allowing for ordinary maintenance of existing buildings so all cabins are from before the NP.

The legal system has already seen cases where violation of the building prohibitions, like illegal extensions of existing buildings have been tried in court. And the National Park always wins!

Life in those mountain cabins is rather basic, as there for instance is no electricity except what is produced by solar panels. Usually you have to carry the water too, from the nearest well or river! Besides, most of the lower parts in the NP is outside mobile phone coverage and thus no Internet either...

But if you can live with this you can have a few peaceful days in the NP, enjoying your morning swim in the nearby river!
