Tsauchab Corridor, a photo from Hardap, South

Photographer's Note

This is a shot taken on the drive along the gravel plain and entry point for the vlei. This is the route the river takes and in the mid-section of the image you can see a thin line of trees, this is the river. The Tsauchab River continued flowing from February, when this picture was taken, through to May when the road to Sossusvlei was closed temporarily as the river burst its banks. The road through to the vlei was closed when we were there which resulted in a 12k hike to the vlei and large dune field, fortunately there was good cloud cover.

Hello Rosemary,
Another fantastic image with the red sand and sparse vegetation in the FG and the road and beautiful clouds focusing attention on the low hills in the background. It must have been a wonderful experience to see so much water there. The last time when I was at Sesriem was sad to see the little canyon completely dried up and I suspected the water had been diverted for a development nearby. A pleasure to view. Best wishes.

hello Rosemary
with the clouds we don't have the sensation that it's very hot,but this is completly desertic, nothing is growing there except a few grasses burnt by the sun,and this is impressive.The colors are beautiful.

Hallo Rosemary,

Veel mensen zouden naar de weg zijn gelopen om zo de diepte in de foto te verkrijgen.
Gelukkig heb jij dat niet gedaan. Ten eerste is het niet meer orgineel en ten tweede ook zo zit er in de foto genoeg diepte en ik zie liever deze strukjes/gras dan een stuk beton.
Naast deze goede keuze der standpunt en verdeling is de foto ook heel knap belicht.

Samengevat: knap fotowerk.

Really the nowhere's land. Impressive and a little worrying for people like me who don't use to see such deserted landscapes. The sky contributes to this worrying atmosphere. I feel in a movie looking at your shot.
