Photographer's Note
The Cape Bojeador Lighthouse in Burgos, Ilocos Norte, Philippines was built in 1892. This Spanish-era “parola” (lighthouse) sits on top of a hill called Vigia de Nagparitan, overlooking the northwestern-most tip of Luzon. The lighthouse has been serving its purpose of guiding “galleons” (Spanish cargo vessels), ships and local fishermen in finding their way to shore during bad weather and guiding them against slamming their vessels on the rocks that protrude along the coastline since the time it wast built. It is the oldest lighthouse in the country and the most visited by tourists.
Shot at around 6pm with a tripod using Canon 40D and EF 24-70mm lens @ 27mm focal length, f/8 lens aperture, 1/30 sec. exposure time, ISO-200, evaluative metering mode. Post processed with LR 2.2 and CS4 to give the painting look.
