Photographer's Note

It was a cloudy evening, we didn't expect it to clear anytime soon, but for afew minutes the cloud parted and Cordillery del Paine is visible bathing in the gray blue evening light. If it was not so cold I would have stay out here all night. I didn’t carry a tripod because of the long hike. I just rested the camera a flat surface of a rock. The light was fairly low by then, much darker than you see here. but with the slow shutter speed it show up much better and I like the mood.

Torres del Paine National Park is a Chilean National Park encompassing a mountains, glacier, lake, and river-rich area in southern Chile. The Cordillera del Paine is the centerpiece of the park. It lies in a transition area between the Magellanic subpolar forests and the Patagonian Steppes. The park is located 112 km north of Puerto Natales and 312 km north of Punta Arenas. Bernardo O'Higgins National Park is its neighbour to the west, while Los Glaciares National Park is located to the north in Argentine territory.

Hello Way - I like the mood too, a beautiful palette of blues and greys; quiet, almost as if time has stood still. I'm not sure about the dark frame, it weighs the shot down too much. It works much better with a narrow black frame on all sides.As always an excellent shot. Warm wishes Rosemary

I like the minimalist colors here of mostly just pastel blues, whites, & greys. Perfect sharpness & a pleasant diffused light. The snowcapped peaks make a magnificent backdrop. Have a great weekend!

For sure , this picture (especially the thumbnail) , seems to be less appealing than your other pictures . But it deserves to be open , because the combination of the evening light with the clouds on the mountains createa a very strong and beautiful atmosphere .

Nice lanscape with a strong mood. It is the kind of view I like to enjoy and to take in photo. I like this overall blue tones.
For the composition, I am not so convinced. My own way of looking would be more in a rectangle shape removing a bit of the water in the bottom. Yes, I know, then it would be more classic in composition. But as I said, it is matter of personnal taste.
Whatever, it is the kind of photo I enjoy to see, even more when printed in large size.

Despite a cloudy weather, you managed to take a nice picture of this beautiful landscape. I like the cold blue tones; the picture could have been a "blue and black" photography because there are no other colors.

it was something dark in this moment but you got a nice view of these famous landmark.I liked the framing and the control of light here.I was something lucky, most time I was there I had more sun than clouds.

An unusually limited range of colours from you. The clouds and darkness give the view a rather eerie atmosphere. The emptiness of the landscape is almost scaring, making me think of some old painter's idea of the land of death. But it's a very elegant and sophisticated composition and a great shot.

Hi Way,
This situation is always happen in our journey, cloudy, rainy, and we we are not sure when the sun will came out again. So that we force to shoot photos in the dim environment, anyway, although the photos are all in dim version, but it is still an important memory of our journey. Good frame to the spectacular nature view, I just like the sharp peaks and calm lake surface, distinct image, thanks for sharing.

It is a magical place this lake with teh Torres. You know how to present every time a new lovely composition with it. I see you change your white frame for a black one. Personaly ifound the white one better. A question of taste.

It must a dream vision, though the cold tones of the image spells the chill in the air. Its beautiful seeing the peaks trying to emerge from the clouds. The Lake Pehoe creates a fantastic FG. Simply stunning as you provide us a view not seen before from this locale (normally are in decent to good light)
