Photographer's Note

On our lighthouse hunting trip to Nova Scotia in 2015, I found one of my favorite lighthouses, Cape d'Or.
It sits on a tip of a peninsula that separates the Bay of Fundy from two smaller bays, Minas and Cobequid. As the tides are quite high here (12m 40 ft) the currents flowing into and out of the bays are quite swift, as shown in the turbulent water in this photo. The terrain is quite steep here with shoreline cliffs and tall hills above the lighthouse. The site is quite remote, but there is a nice restaurant and lodge on site, shown in the right corner of the photo.
