Photographer's Note
The disused Neath Canal at Rheola. There was at one time plans to open up this stretch of canal for navigation once again. Now it seems nature has been left to reclaim the canal with low water and plants covering most of it.
Running from Pontneddfechan at the top of the Neath Valley to the town of Neath with it's tidal wharfs. Most of the bridges over the canal are stone and this is one of the few metal bridges, possibly for a tramway connection.
