Photographer's Note

Good Morning Everyone,

If you know anything about the reputation of Cambridge, it will involve boating.
The city is renown for taking part in the Oxford v Cambridge boat race and also, for using flat bottomed boats, called punts, to ferry visitors along the river.

When we reached the centre of Cambridge, along the river bank, we immediately came upon these groups of young people, touting for passengers to take punting trips along the river.

The youngsters are mainly students, as are the punters, who spend much of their summer break accruing money to fund their university life.

In this photograph, I tried to include the people arranging the punting trips and a view of one of the punters, just setting off along the river.

I will add a w/s showing a complete punt.

Of course, we had to take a trip, which I will feature later, Bev :-)
