As though bending into a strong wind, this "straw man" spreads his arms.

Seeing one this close makes it more apparent that Joshua Trees really aren't trees. What is interesting is that they don't have growth rings, so determining their age is difficult. It's believed that some of them are over 1,000 years old as they grow an average of 1.5 cm per year. After a couple B&W versions, it was time for color.

Cropped, contrast adjusted, and exposure increased 1/4 f-stop.

ISO 100, f/18 @ 1/125th second, 35mm focal length

interesting photo about this very particular and old tree, good note, well photographed, nice rendering, sharpness , colors and sunlight, tfs.
