Photographer's Note
The Halászbástya (Fisherman's Bastion) at the Buda Castle is one of the most iconic places of the castle hill with a beautiful view. This induces an inner temptation in tourists to produce social media content on a large scale. In my next post I will show you a wider view.
Gert, in the WS you can see a view of the Halászbástya taken from the Hunyadi János str. Sadly enough their is no google view of this part of the street. However, I remember that years ago you showed a '70s view of this street as a WS under one of my photos from Budapest. (You claimed that it was not good enough to show it as a main upload in your gallery). Back then I identified the view. It happened that some days ago I was in the nearby so I took a photo. If you had the time, I would gladly see your photo again as a WS under this photo and compare what changed in the last 50 years. :) Thank you in advance if you dig up your archive!

Hello György,
This is of course a photo I would have tried to take if I had an opportunity. It's nice, not least thanks to the background, but it's almost too simple and obvious, if you know what I mean.
Regarding that WS it would require a lot of digging through heaps of boxes stored in my wardrobe. I shall think about it, but if you know what your photo looked like you could maybe find it yourself. I don't seem to have saved a copy in my computer.
Have a nice weekend,
Gert

Hi Gyorgy,I remember the ramparts very well because my B&B was just a few steps away, so I know the scenery well and the magnificent view from here, an original capture, maybe you could have chosen a better model but we are satisfied with what passes the convent. ..eheheh ... Have a nice weekend and thanks,Luciano

Hello Gy,
A location with a splendid view of the Danube and the city.
Moreover, the view with the arches is even more beautiful.
I remember you once gambled on the nationalities of the people in your street view. In this case here, I'd bet the young ladies were from the US :)
Best regards, Paul

Hi Gy,
How good that you were able to sneak in on an unprofessional photo shoot!
It worked perfectly for you, with a strong f/g presence and an equally strong b/g presence, the two closely linked by intention.
I suspect that your photograph was more interesting and better composed.
It's always very interesting to recognise how scenes have changed over the years and we photographers, able to exchange views, are paramount in recording this.
Have a good day,
Bev :-)

Hello Gyorgy,
You captured a scene that combines the elegance of Budapest, with the modern-day phenomena of posting photos on social media. I do like the arches, and the view below, but what really caught my attention was the tote bag; I have the same one! It came from the Danish shop Flying Tiger, which sadly left the US during the pandemic. This scene made me smile. :-) Take care!
