Tuareg woman, Mali, a photo from Kidal, North

This was made at the essouk festival near kidal , mali.It is held most years in january. not so many tourists at this festival so it felt quite remote. (it took us a couple days driving across the desert to get there) the woman wear indigo dyed cloth and their skin takes on the blue color from the dye. they were singing a type of chant/callback song which can got me a little trancelike!

Excellent portrait and the blues and browns are wonderful. I would crop out or clone out the partial woman's face on the left.

A very fine portrait you got here! She seems to be in a trance herself! Cant help but notice the one eye of a female at the bottom corner. It adds to the pic. What L series lens and Canon camera did you use?

Hi, mark, very expressive portrait, the dark colors fit well with the subject at the moment you caught her, and the L lens, in a capable hand, delivered the definition and realism one can expect from superior equipment.
