Photographer's Note

Well actually he is my friend, he was marching ahead of the rest of the group, then waiting. suddenly we saw that excellent lighting of morning sunlight was behind him, giving beautiful light to the trees then instead of going after him, we began taking his photograph :)

I guess he realized being photographed then began to pose :).

Anyway, the sun always changing in Bromo area, while in the crater began to hot as the sun rise, some parts still not captured by the sun, and it really gave beautiful sun light.

Nice capture of light and darkness Cessy. I'm sure you attract some suggestions for a crop, to increase the relative size of the figure, but I like it just the way it is, with plenty of space around.

Beautiful, a real dramatic atmosphere with the thin rays trying to filter through the smog and the trees. I wish the horse was in movement to add a certain dynamic to the composition, but already great as it is. Thank you.

Hi Cessy. That might be the lone ranger but that's definitely not Silver!! :) That would be a neat effect to have a white horse against the dust and clouds. Great light too. Well done Cessy!!

Hi Cessy, A well composed picture. The dust, trees and the darkness behind the gentle slope provided some mystic feeling of what is behind the slope. Nice use of light to highlight the rider. Nice sharpness and details.

Les teintes sont magnifiques et l'ambiance qui règne dans cette photo est incroyable !
Je trouve le cadrage bien pensé et cette partie lumineuse contraste bien avec cette grande partie foncée.

Cessy, this is gorgeous with the misty, surreal light filtering down and illuminating the trees and the horseman and just a hint of the rockface behind. Balanced by the darkness on the upper left increases its drama.. Beautifully composed. I am adding this to my favorites.

Hi Cessy. Your recent Indonesia trip produced some of your strongest work so far, this one is again top-notch. The mood with the special light setting is amazingly rendered, and the compo is also well made with the guy placed amidst this incredible scenery. Very nice.

Excelent capture of darkness, Cessy.
Looks like the rider is on some stage and the trees are part of the scenery. Everything is perfectly lined up.

At first sight on the thumbnail, a huge black area with a tiny rusty brown strip. So ? This one has to be opened because it looks too simple, it sure has something more to it... And indeed when you get it full size it is great. The trees look like explosions, the forest like a dust-filled cloud. A war scene almost, and then no, it is a perfectly quiet morning, violently still. Heavy "sky" really deserves to take most of the space.

Wow! This is artwork!
I had to read your note to find out that what looks like smoke or clouds rolling towards him are actually trees.
Excellent composition and angle. Perfect colours. The dark gray sky is very dramatci and makes a fine contrast against the rusty and golden grass. The horse and rider are perfcetly details and sharp. Nicely seen and captured.

Sisi lain dari kehidupan di Bromo...
Saya suka dengan suasana & atmosfirnya, yang terlihat tidak seperti sedang berada di Bromo. Ditambah dgn karakter yg kuat dari "Lone Ranger" juga tentunya...
