Photographer's Note
india's full of beautiful (photogenic) ironies, and as my mother would say; accidents waiting to happen.
a man balancing procariously up a rickety ladder fixing wires in preparation of the festival of dusheera (where they will burn the papier-mâché statues you see in the background). next to him is a sign warning of accidents.
thank you fate for giving me a ladder which looks like an 'A'...next time may i also please have some good light? or is that just being plain greedy? i know that technically this is a pretty crappy photo, but i like the story it tells. if anyone has any suggestions of how i can make it better, please let me know.
cheers, jenny

Hello Jenny,
A lot of humour in your picture. This seems not really a secure position.
You catched an interesting moment of life.
Nice

Hi Jenny
You gotta love those road signs in India .. one of my favourites were found on the high altitude roads in Ladakh
"Be Gentle on my Curves"
"If sky is the limit, we take you there"
This looks like a fresh picuture with the effigies to be burnt on Dushehra in the background ... It is nice to look at what was going on in INdia when I was sleeping in Canada. I tried to do a workshop on your photo with my very limited knowledge of the PS but none of the versions are worth posting as I was not able to improve on your version
As you say that technically it is a sad picture but I still love the message that you are trying to convey here
cheers .... sarju

Hello Skye!
Yes, I like to be the first calling you that, although I still like freak too ;)
The photo: very interesting theme. It could also fit nicely under "humorous".
I did a little WS. let me know what you think.
Cheers,

Hi Jenny,
Very ironic indeed. Well spotted! India surely must be a very interesting country considering its diversity.
Thanks

Hi Jenny,
A funny picture indeed. You were at the right place at the right time and immediately saw this ironic action.
Thanks for sharing ;o)

Really funny picture. And really good memories for me because

Hi,
I don't know if it is crappy technically, at least I like the framing which is in good balance, if anything.
To make it better ? Maybe more contrast and saturation would do ?

Oh well,
why is this guy standing on the most instable ladder I've ever seen and why is the pole he holds on to not standing straight and why are these bricks lying there on the sidewalk and why do these powerlines look so dangerous and why is he hanging there in such a leaning position AND WHY IS THIS SIGN EXACTLY AT THE RIGHT SPOT? Are you sure that you do not have developed any PS skills for inserting certain things into photos:)? Actually I'm just waiting for a bus to hit the ladder here:) I wish this guy all my luck for future adventures...
Very nice capture and I do not care about the quality at all!
