En février, au Québec, le sol est censé être couvert de son blanc manteau hivernal. Mais, parfois, Dame Nature a de ces caprices... Le redoux, surtout au sud de La Belle Province, permet souvent une brusque fonte de la neige, suivie immanquablement de chutes plus importantes qui perdureront jusqu'en avril ou mai.

Ce bloc de neige isolé, affectant la forme d'un ours polaire, m'attendait en bordure d'un chemin de gravier, et illustre bien ce qui est exprimé ci-haut !

In February, one would expect the ground in Québec to be covered with its white winter coat. However, Mother Nature sometimes has her moods... A warming-up period locally called "le redoux" often brings a rapid melting of the snow, unmistakably followed by abundant snow which will last until April or May. This is specially true in the Southern part of La Belle Province.

This isolated block of snow, affecting the shape of a polar bear, was waiting for me at the side of a gravel road. It clearly illustrates what is written above !
