Photographer's Note

This is Aikido, a japanese martial art developed by 'O Sensei' Morihei Ueshiba.
Aikido focuses not on punching or kicking opponents, but rather on using their own energy to gain control of them or to throw them away from you. It is not a static art, but places great emphasis on motion and the dynamics of movement.
Weapons training in aikido usually consists of jo (that you see on this picture), bokken (wooden sword), and tanto (wooden knife).
Aikido training is for all-around physical fitness, flexibility, and relaxation and developes the body in a unique manner. If performed correctly, size and strength are not important for the techniques to be effective.

"The Way of Harmony of the Spirit" or "the art of peace" are ways that "Aikido" may be translated into english.

I practise aikido for couple of years and yesterday had exam for another technical degree.. :)
Im sorry for not very good quality of this picture, but i took it after my exam - the camera became veeery heavy to carry for me.. :)
