Photographer's Note
ROMANIAN FORESTS SUFFER!!!!!
It is a RACE for this green gold...
Relentless wood-cutting... Most of this wood is being illegally exported....
Uncontrolled wood cutting has destroyed this country's forests and left hundreds of hectares completely or partially bare...

O poza misto cu mai multe planuri bine demarcate.
O poza cu tente 3D ...frumos facuta.
Cred ca locul ala e minunat !
Defapt , cand esti la munte totul pare frumos si linistit.
Salutari de la Vasy.

Hi Isabela,
A very topical subject and one very close to my heart. The forests are being cleared the world over for commercial purpose and despite all the promises new plantations are not coming up. Most governments are turning a blind eye to it, settling for the present overlooking the future. Thanks for sharing!

Hi Isabela,
Nice journalistic shot denouncing a problem in your contry. Colors and composition are nice, the light on the wood give it a kind of golden colors which conveys to the tittle.

Isabela,
this is really something. First, I look at this picture. I think: wooaaa, nice topical picture. We have the man working the wood, with the cut trunks, one intact tree and the beautiful forest. And this beautiful intimate look to this man doing this work.
But then I read your note...very touching. I understand the problem and I see people are feeling a bit powerless in front of this and of the government which does nothing...They think that new plantations(we do that here) will be enough to replace all the trees that are cut.
Have a nice day,
Marc

Powerful and succinct note, Isabela, and the photo matches it in its simplicity. Well done.

Hello,
Pretty photo, the colors are splendid and framing is perfect, but there is just this cable which obstructs me a little,

Hi Isabela,
The lumber profession is one of the professions oldest and here you made a good photo of this work.
the POV is interesting but I think that if you photographed of low for top and together to the man it had also had to be well.

I must admit the photo is ordinary but the note tells everything, I'll post a photo later today that I saw in Romania which amused me in one way and also showed what deforestation is.
You get two points for bringing up the subject to which western europe has provided the demand for forest goods and in general the people squander these valuable commodities. In the UK for example people buy wooden picture frames and at a whim of fashion throw them out the next year, perfectly good frames. You see they are too cheap so they are not appreciated. I'll stop here cos I'll be getting on my soap box!
Well done for making me write a load of ranting

Salut Isa!
A very good title for a sad issue. The note tells it all. The photograph has beautiful colours and nice details (despite the problem that it show us). In Portugal the big problem for forests are the summer fires (my last photo).
Your Intro is very nice with all those languages. Let me copy and wish you too:
Craciun fericit si un An Nou fericit!

I cant believe I was just lamenting the same thing in my critique on another one of your pictures, this is truly shameful, I wish people would realise what they are taking away from their future generations for the money they are earning today. Plantations can never replace all the variety of the original forests and so much richness in flora is lost for ever to the world. This picture makes me sad.
