A mayan viewon the Machu Picchu

About this famous place in the world I sould share my experience :

First, as you probably now, there is two way to go to this remote place, by the Inca's way (three days walking) or by the expensive railway (Sold by the Peruvian government to a private Chilean company). I chose the trekking and for my interest, it was not the good choice.

I explain, for security reasons you can't do it alone anymore, you are forced to make this trek with an accredited company and there are a lot in Cusco but they are all doing the same : a luxuous walk with three stars meal, with chair and popcorn during the breaks, ... for me it was too much and it prevent me from appreciate the terrific landscape of that remote region !

For the people who like walking I now usually say that they should do a trekking elsewhere in Peru or Bolivia (there are thousands of kilometers of Inca's path) and go by the railway to Aguasclientes sleep one night and early morning go by foot to the top and visit the Machu Picchu.
