Liamone and its legend.

Presentation: Liamone forms part of the long list of the Corsican rivers, it runs out peacefully, in general, towards the Western coast of Corsica between Tiuccia and Sagone (Corsican-of-south).

It is by its size one of the largest rivers of Corsica (46 km) and gave in the past its name to the Corsican-of-south. If its course is peaceful and its slow flow the summer, it can reveal of a true ferocity at the time of the bad season, at which time its flow can become inconstant.

The legend of Liamone. Liamone has 2 brothers who are Golo and Tavignano with which it played child in the mountains of Corsica. Only one day, the cold was such as the three brothers had the idea to go close to the sea to seek heat there. Golo and Tavignano left in the same direction (the East) this fact they wanted each one to arrive the first.

Liamone, it, by no means with the fact of the race that his/her brothers delivered themselves, hastened slowly, strolling with the liking of its desires.

Whereas it was always far from the plain, Liamone met Satan. This one smelling some aubaine informed the river of the delay taken compared to his/her brothers, thus switching his competitive spirit. Mow, the accumulated delay was too important and Liamone could not catch up with it without assistance; this help the devil proposed it to him and the river accepted it. The market was simple and easy to respect for this impetuous river, n the other hand of its victory the river would be indebted. Satan proposed to him to begin has to sacrifice to him a victim per annum until the night of times. Thus it was concludes, Liamone will gain the race while arriving at the sea head his/her brothers and will remove since, each year, a heart among the inhabitants of the area.
