Photographer's Note
This picture was taken in Old Portsmouth at Sallyport, also known as the hotwalls. The hotwalls were famous in past times for courting couples. The hotwalls are really, the old sea defences of Portsmouth, which have arches overlooking the sea. I spotted these elderly people in silhouette against the sea.
I Wonder if they were reliving old memories.
Darkened the picture, converted to black and white and added a frame.

A fine silhouetted group. It is very good to have the masonry on the left and the frame of the opening on the right with well exposed details to get depth and life. Much better than if it had been all silhouettes.

Oui, jolie photo. Les silhouettes des personnes sont intemporelles, elles pouraient être américaines, espagnoles ou anglaises, nul ne sait. C'est ce mystère là que j'aime bien. La composition est bien vu, meme si j'aurais préféré voir la voûte en entier.

You did a good framing here, i really like it. You have well captured those silhouettes of elderly people at the right moment in this place. I agree with you for the black and white convertion, good choice, think it' s better for this kind of pic
