Photographer's Note

San Giulio island in Lake Orta seen from a cliffside chapel on the other side of the lake, a basilica occupies the island. A website with more info. About 150mm. focal length, I will add a 12mm. version to workshop.

Very interesting place, with the island completely build up and totally occupied. The high angle makes this almsot like an arial view, or maybe a map, which is always an interesting look. Great colour and contrast too. Well done!

This is a great looking scene with a wonderful POV. The reflections on the beautiful blue water are lovely. It certainly looks like it would be a great place to visit.

Tan the long focal length used in this photo has very good pleasing results in contrast with the wide angle view. You always seem to shoot from excellent vantage spots to obtain these interesting results. I honestly think you could most certainly sell large framed photos of this capture. Very well done indeed. Hi Tan,
That high POV looks like taken from a plane! The full zoom still has excellent quality with vivid colors and great sharpness of details... the reflections of the small island look superb.

I cannot say what picture I prefer between the original and the WS because there are different. This one have more impact because the subject is the basilica on the Island is not common.

Where were you to take this photo as I've only seen this island from the village. The light is lovely makes all the colourful buildings stand out really well. I like those reflections too.

sürekli helikopterle dolaşıp fotoğraf çekiyormuşsunuz hissine kapılıyorum bazen fotoğraflarınıza bakarken... hem adadaki hem karadaki yapılar gözalıcı... tipik italyan kasabası, çekici, davetkar... ve yine güzel foto, etkileyici, çarpıcı...

Tan, our path crossed here, although not in the same year. I was at that same place 7 years ago, however without a camera and that makes all the difference. Your POV is again exquisite. I love this descriptive overview a lot and having good memories of the time that I was there I will take it into my favorites.

A magical Island of dreams, full, it would appear, of fine medieval and classical buildings. I can't imagine where your viewpoint was situated 9in a balloon flying over?) but this high view gives us a commanding view of this wonderful place. regards kevin

Hi Tan,

wonderful scenary. Great use of the tele to catch all those details. The workshop is essential to have an idea of the place. The POV is very attractive with the island on the center-bottom and the reflections on the dark blue water. I like it a lot!

Wow, I didn't realise how far away from this you were, Tan, until I saw the WS. You MUST have had a tripod on this to achieve this sharpness - otherwise you have an incredibly steady hand with a long lens. I must also commend you on spotting this composition as a photo opportunity from the distance that you were. You had some very good light on this day which helped to produce some nice reflections in the water.

Hello Tan,
the island in the middle of the frame looks to be a nice place for habitation. Its architecture is better than the corresponding of the coast behind. The point of the view is excellent the details are fine as well the reflections on the lake's water.
