Photographer's Note

This, well, is simply the night version of my day version of the Hotel Atlantis, on Paradise Island, in the Bahamas. This photo was taken about an hour after the first version, from approximately the same location.

I should have probably taken it a little earlier to even out the light a bit more, especially in the tower tops which are overexposed. I liked this version for the colors in the sky and palm trees more than the hotel though. Maybe I'll have to go back one day and try it a little earlier though...

For those who don't know anything about the hotel. It is a small homely little hotel that happens to be one the biggest hotels in the Caribbean. Suites that go up to $25,000 USD per night, one of the largest casinos in the world and probably the nicest beach I have ever been on. Crystal clear water and white sand that makes the toes tingle. Plus, most people there are so caught up in the restaurants, water slides (through shark tanks of course), aquariums, spa, casino, museum, up scale shops and everything else the hotel offers that not many make it to the beach. Which is a great thing if you like a beach where you can spread out and not worry about masses of people.

Now, although it is a "kitsch" hotel I do want to say that the architecture was amazing, the hotel was run very well and all the animals in the pools and aquariums around the hotel were well taken care of. So, I have to hand it to the hotel for taking care of things. It was a bit big for my taste but a sight to see nonetheless.

For this photo I used a 2 stop ND filter on the top half to get the unreal looking reflection. Pre-processing instead of post-processing if you think about it.

Thanks for any comments or critiques.
