Photographer's Note

First shot from my short trip to Japan. This shot was taken from the banks of the Kawaguchi-ko, which is one of the five lakes in Fuji GoKo region in the Yamanashi prefecture of Japan.

Although day time temperatures climbed up to 10-12C, at night they fell below freezing, and thus a thick layer of cloud descends on this lake, and also causing frost.

There are several firsts in this shot - my first trip to an Asian country (other than India), first flight across the Pacific, first frost, first time shooting a very young mountain, and first time not being alone shooting sunrise photos (there were 11 people shooting at the same time!)

I was hoping for some cloud, but was pretty satisfied with this shot.

5D, 17-40, 3-stop GND, tripod, etc.
