Photographer's Note
Taking early morning walk along the beaches of the Mabu Island is an experience for photographers - it is funny how we can get up automatically early morning when we are traveling these days. The first thing to contemplate will be to find a good sky and light for photography. Therefore, on this day, three of us were up early and lifted the cameras and off we went, hunting for subjects.
As we walked along the island beaches, the sun shining on the island would be a fantastic view. Here is a glimpse where the light falling on the coconut palms and beach side. It would be amazing to find the coconum palms rising so tall on this island. The cyan color of sea water making it a good foreground subject. At this side of the island, the sea is clear and clean. In fact, if you stay up late at night, you can see fish swimming around freely in the shallow waters below the huts.
I hope you find this a pleasant island waiting for your next visit. Thank you for viewing. Regards, Bill

Hello Bill,
A very nice tropical landscape making good use of the curve of the beach. I like the tonal contrasts between the cool blues of sea and sky and the lush greens of the graceful palm trees. Great tones and clarity.

Hey Bill, not a bad effort. Great dramatic sky and the palms lean nicely into the centre of the photo. But the left hand side of the shot I find too empty. The line of rocks forming the shore leads us nicely into the shot but what we find where our eye ends up is a blurred bird... I would have retaken the shot without the bird. Also I think you've overexposed a little - the sky is washed out at the top left there.

WOW paradise. I long to visit such a beach. The beach near my home is not very nice and it is very dangerous to swim in the sea as there is a lot of under water current. A lot of people hav died.

Olá Bill,
esse sim é o verdadeiro paraíso tropical. Gostei dessas palmeiras e da cor na foto. Aquela mancha escura ao fundo no céu parece ser um parapente, estranho...
Parabéns e Abraço!

Hello Bill,
At first look I thought this is from the same island as your "Growing Up" photo but then the beach front is too manicured to be from Maiga. I suppose the wind blown blur appearance on the fronds is due to your slow shutter speed. A nice composition with the general curve of the palms ending beyond the center of the frame ... also the z formation of sea color is interesting. Regards. Latiff.

Hi Bill,
This is a good way to enjoy the morning, palms trees, tthe beach and the sea. The point of view leads our eyes towards the horizon. The light brings out the beauty of the colors. The subject is well framed. Have a nice day.

Hello Bill,
It looks to be a magnificent place; you can tell that the bottom is made of that pure white silica that everyone enjoys. I agree that the blurred bird or dust is a little bit of a distraction, it took me a few moments to recognize it however. I would consider a crop of about 1/8 off the top to limit brightness and help place the focus of attention onto the water. Nevertheless, it is an appealing sight and really promotes Malaysia's beaches and islands. Good job!

hello Bill,
I don't mind the emptiness on the left, I actually quite like it - for me it suggests wide open sea, tranquility and peace. I also like the gentle curve of the beach, it nicely fits with the story about a lazy early morning walk. beautiful warm colours and soft light, although the photo could be a touch sharper for my taste, but that's not a major point.
with kind regards,
Kristine

Hi Bill,
An inviting and dreamy postcard, with beautiful colours and a very nice compo; I like those curves of the trees, the coast and of the colours of the sea. The only thing that could be better is the sharpness, which isn't bad, but not at the excellent level with your last posts.
Regards, José.
