Photographer's Note
SMILE, it will never cost a dime
Then why do I have to tell you every time
Smile is a magic, brings hearts together
With package of love which stays forever
Smile is a medicine, wounds it heal
Anger and hatred no more in the deal
To see someone smile, how happy it feels
Smile imprints our hearts with its love zeal
Smile spreads love- it's a treasure
Smile- give and take without measure
It feels good to bring out a smile
Messenger of love, that's your smile.

My first portrait with the new digicam for my friends in TE..This was taken yesterday when we all photographers from the Kolkata photograhy Club went to Maidan for a shooting spree..I saw her sitiing across the road with her husband under a tree enjoying the present generation living its life to the fullest..My friends were all zooming on this couple from across the road..and I hade my 18-55 so I ran across the road to catch her..seeing me coming towards her she broke into a smile which was still here when I took this shot....I guess I made her feel IMPORTANT....u can see that in this smile of hers...!!! open hearted and full of happiness.......this was a great gift for me..!!!!
Enjoy it..!!!!

Hi Indro,
The smile journeys fast ...
It's a blessing to smile so..
Here, the presentation is eye catching.
The black b/g gives a volcanic thrust to the character.
Enjoy :)

Fine portrait Indro. Skintones are excellent & so are the details especially the wrinkles. But why the black BG? Should have left as it is, with the shallow DOF, would not have been a distraction IMO. But you were there when you took this shot & I was not...so you wud know better

this is a very successful portrait. dark bg helps the viewer focus on the subject, who has a lovely smile and happy eyes.

Good portrait pose with such expressive smile and very nicely muted background. Perhaps some harsh shadow and light control can be slightly improved, especially dark area around the eyes. Good work.

Hello Indranil,
Fine portrait of the lady smiling nicely, you have captured her making good use of the very suitable light and the pitch-dark background.
Best wishes, Hisashi
