Intro: I was born in Istanbul in 1963. I began to take interest in photography while I was studying in secondary school. And I couldn’t give it up since the day I witnessed the picture of a pine tree, slowly becoming clearer in the water bath under the dimmed red light of a dark room. It was like a black and white illusion, coming from a different world. I had taken this photograph in 1974; it was the picture of a pine tree and the sun was rising behind it. This was my first “artistic” work.

I interruptedly continued to take photographs in 80’s and 90’s. These were more the documentary photographs from my domestic and international trips. I am trying to take photographs regularly since 1998.

I have some national and international photo awards and honorable mentions. Some of my photopraphs had been exhibited in exhibitions.

Photography will always take an important place in my life. What I love about photography most is that it allows me to freeze, to conserve and recreate by sharing the moments which reflects my perspective on life.
