In Photoshop CS2, first I created a new layer with the use of Gradient Map, and then chose b/w. Secondly, I created another layer with the selection of Satuation, and than desatuated it. And finally, in the new layer menu, I chose Channel Mixer. Here is the result. I hope you like it. Sothy

I thought that some more blue on the sky would be nice. What I did:

1- Select the blue areas of the sky and put some more blue and less green and exposure.

2- Selected the clouds and gave a bit of blue and some more exposure.

3- Selected the darker areas and increased a bit the exposure by pulling up the left part of the histogram.

I rotate it 90 Degree CW, now it seems more natural.

Je propose un cadrage différent afin que l'oiseau soit dans le 1/3 à gauche.
De plus le moineau forme une diagonale donnant un mouvement d'un angle à l'autre du cadre.

As I said, I thought the original picture had too much of a blue tint, especially in the snow and clouds, which should be white. What I did is quie simple, really. With Photoshop, I changed the colour balance by:

- reducing blue in the highlights

- reducing blue and also green in the midtones (-17 each)

To finish off I went to the 'filter' menu and used the 'sharpen edges' function, to make it all a little more crisp.

I hope it works well. And great composition and subject, by the way.

I thought the compostion should be a bit better if it lost some of the blank sky, so I cropped it more of a panorama. Then the exposure seemed a bit dark (common with snow shots), so I brightened it a bit to get the snow white. Finally, a little frame...
