Time Travelling Photo

Photographer's Note

Prague is a mystic place, timeless, where modern life left some traces, but they stand no chance in comparison with the heritage. Unlike in other cities its heritage is unoffensive, no imperialistic architecture to awe the passer-by, it is more like a collection of old toys and juwelery, scattered all over the city.

The evening we got there it was quite foggy, and this contributed to the feeling of having arrived centuries ago.

Amazing picture. The fog creates a special atmosphere while it's good to see that the building on the left is crystal clear. It creates a bit of a contrast. The exposure looks perfect and the warm glow of the lights in the distance is another great feature of this picture.

Very well captured this atmosphere of Prague in the evening mist. Wonderful composition with the clock tower i nthe foreground and the gostly cathedral behind in the fog. Nice colours too.

This is a incredible shot coming directly from a dark, dark scary movie!The contrast of colours temperatures and sharpness between the differents grounds is perfect, i really like this so different but well done shot!

Buna Johannes,

this is a totally uncommon yet magic shot from the golden city.
I like the sharp POV on the astronomic clock and the foggy blurred POV on Tyn....

tja...wieso habe ich auf englisch geschrieben? auf jedem Fall hast du was neues ueber Prag eingegeben...ausserdem...gibt's keine Touristenflute...nur ein paar leute, die diese seltsame Atmosphere geniessen

Nebel ist ein eigenartiges Phänomen in der Fotografie. Nur hier mag ich ihn, er spielt mit Distanzen und Farbtönen..
Aber das kannst Du ja auch sehr gut :)

I agree with your impressions from Prague.

Some say foggy weather is bad weather for photography (especially in the city), but this photo is a proof that for a good photographer fog creates unique opportunities. You did great job here, without the fog this photo would not be so special.

This picture really creates a magnificent mood. I have never been to Prague, but your picture has really captured what I imagine it would 'feel' like to be there. The light reflecting off the building in the foreground is perfect and captures the detail in the architecture well. Great Photo.

The point of view is original, the composition very good, and we feel the atmosphere of that place. Colors are great and the fog give an atmosphere of mystery.
